Chelsea keen on Inter’s Kondogbia; Real Madrid eye Arsenal’s Ramsey

Chelsea are rumoured to be ready to bring Geoffrey Kondogbia to Stamford Bridge.

The transfer window might be shut, but don’t think the wheeling and dealing won’t continue! Check out all the latest deals here.

TOP STORY: Conte keen on Kondogbia

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is ready to build on his side’s fine form by adding Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia. The Mirror reports that Kondogbia, 23, is frustrated at a lack of playing time and the uncertainty surrounding Inter after two managerial changes in quick succession.

Chelsea are already well-stocked in midfield with N’Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, Nathaniel Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. But with Fabregas reportedly allowed to leave and Loftus-Cheek a loan target for West Ham United, there could become room for Kondogbia to arrive.

Before joining Inter from Monaco on a five-year deal in 2015, Kondogbia was considered one of the brightest young talents in Europe, attracting interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur and breaking into the France national side, but he hasn’t featured for Les Bleus this year.

Ramsey a Real Madrid target?

Aaron Ramsey could be making a move from Arsenal to Real Madrid next summer.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is an unlikely transfer target for Real Madrid, where he could link up with Wales international teammate Gareth Bale.

The Sun reckons Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane will launch a £25 million move for Ramsey, whose current deal with Arsenal runs until 2018. In addition, the Gunners are said to still owe Madrid £11m for the transfer of Mesut Ozil, a figure that could be taken from Ramsey’s transfer fee.

The 25-year-old would face tough competition for a starting place in Zidane’s XI, with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos both recently committing their long-term future to the club by signing new contracts, but it is reported there is a pay raise and the promise of regular football on offer at the Bernabeu.

Man City going for Grimaldo

Alex Grimaldo could be on his way out of Benfica in January, with Pep Guardiola interested in bringing the former Spain under-21 international left-back to Manchester City.

But it won’t be cheap. Despite joining the Portuguese side for only €1.5m from Barcelona last year, AS claims he will cost City €45m. Although Barca let Grimaldo go for a cut-price fee, they are said to have a sell-on clause and will make some money from his sale to City.

Grimaldo, 21, seems like a solid long-term option for City. He is a regular for Benfica, has Champions League experience, and has come through the ranks at Barca, meaning he will be adept in the style of football Guardiola wants to play.

Sturridge set for Serie A move

Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge could swap a Premier League title challenge for the chance to win Serie A, according to CalcioMercato, with AC Milan interested in adding him to their squad in January.

Milan have been the surprise club in Italy so far this season and sit third, five points behind league leaders Juventus. Rossoneri coach Vincenzo Montella, a former striker himself, is said to be keen on bolstering his options with Sturridge, who has found himself out of favour at Liverpool.

The England international has been linked with West Ham United and Stoke City this week, but he could follow Three Lions teammate Joe Hart by moving to Italy.

As his contract comes to an end with New York, what’s the next move for former Chelsea man Frank Lampard?

Tap-ins

— Manager Claudio Ranieri will allow Jeffrey Schlupp and Leonardo Ulloa to leave Leicester City in January if they ask. The Leicester Mercury says West Bromwich Albion remain keen on Schlupp, having failed to sign him in the summer, while Ulloa is a target for struggling Swansea City and Sunderland.

— Everton are considering an improved offer for Charlton striker Ademola Lookman, having seen a £7m bid turned down, the Mirror reports. Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are also keen on the 19-year-old who has scored five goals this season, but the Addicks are looking for a bid of £10m.

— Striker Robbie Keane is leaving the LA Galaxy after six seasons, the MLS club announced on Thursday. Keane, 36, scored 92 regular-season goals in his time in California while helping the Galaxy win three MLS Cups.
