Chelsea news: Maurizio Sarri will speak to doctor as he considers Eden Hazard decision

 Chelsea have enjoyed a strong start to the new Premier League campaign, collecting maximum points from their first five fixtures. And Hazard was on hand to put Cardiff to the sword on Saturday, bagging a hat-trick after the visitors had taken a shock lead. Chelsea are in for a demanding season, with the rigours of the Europa League offering a stern test on top of their domestic commitments. And that means Sarri has a number of selection decisions to mull over as the campaign plays out. Eden Hazard is a sure-fire starter having been eased back into the fold following a post-World Cup break. But Sarri might leave the Belgium international out in Greece with a London derby against West Ham on the horizon. Sarri has revealed he is planning to speak to Chelsea’s doctor regarding the injured Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with resting Hazard also on his mind. “Loftus-Cheek has a little problem with his right tibia so on Saturday he wasn’t able to play,” Sarri said. “I hope he can recover in the next two or three days and maybe there is an opportunity that I can give him a chance. “I don’t know now because I want to have a very clear picture of the situation, who are the players who need to rest or not. “I don’t know about Hazard. “I want to speak with him and I want to speak to the doctor and then I will decide. “Of course either Hazard or Pedro will rest on Thursday.” Sarri must also think about whether Alvaro Morata or Olivier Giroud will spearhead his attack against PAOK. And he says his decisions regarding the strikers are being made on a game-by-game basis. “On Saturday Oliver played very well,” Sarri added. “Without scoring but he was very useful for his team-mates. “In the last two weeks I have seen four matches of Cardiff and four matches of PAOK Salonika and I thought Giroud was more suitable for the Cardiff match and Morata for the other. “So I don’t know who will be the striker of the future but I think both because we have to play 60 matches. “In characteristics they are different and it depends on the kind of match.”
