• For the second season running, Barcelona have knocked out Twente to reach the quarter-finals.
• Last term they lost by a single goal in the quarter-finals to Paris; in 2013/14 they went down 5-0 on aggregate to Wolfsburg.
• Barça won their first 12 games this season before a 1-1 draw at Real Betis preceded their 4-0 second-leg success at Twente.

• After falling in the 2009/10 round of 16, and the last 32 a year ago, comfortable victories over Hibernian and Russian champions Rossiyanka have taken Bayern through to the quarter-finals at last.
• Bayern have won the German league for the past two campaigns, going on a 40-match Frauen Bundesliga unbeaten run from June 2014 to April 2016.
• Their squad includes former competition winners Verena Faisst, Simone Laudehr and Gina Lewandowski (an American unrelated to Robert Lewandowski).

• Fortuna avenged last term’s round of 16 defeat by Brescia to halt a sequence of losing at that stage every season since it was introduced in 2009/10.
• In the round of 32, Fortuna overcame Athletic with a goal a minute from the end of extra time by Brazil defender Tamires, having only equalised late in regulation time.
• Fortuna appeared in the second UEFA Women’s Cup final in 2003 but lost 7-1 on aggregate to Sweden’s Umeå.
Lyon (FRA)

• Lyon are aiming to equal FFC Frankfurt’s record of four titles.
• In 11 competitive fixtures this season, Lyon have scored 74 goals, including 27 in four European ties.
• The first leg will be Lyon’s 75th European game and, if they reach the final, they will match Arsenal’s record tally of 79. Lyon have already overtaken Frankfurt’s previous competition-best mark of 54 wins to move on to 57.

• Man. City are the only debutants left in the competition after eliminating 2009 runners-up Zvezda-2005 and three-time semi-finalists Brøndby.
• The club claimed their first English league championship in September, ensuring a European return for 2017/18.
• Their squad contains plenty of European experience including former Arsenal players Beattie and Stephanie Houghton, plus a 2015 runner-up with Paris, Kosovare Asllani.

• Paris overturned a 3-1 first-leg deficit to knock out Norwegian champions LSK Kvinner in the round of 32, with a Cristiane hat-trick in the 4-1 return-leg home win.
• Paris’s bid for a second straight final was thwarted by Lyon in the semis last spring, a year after Paris had ousted their French rivals in the round of 16.
• Coach Patrice Lair led Lyon to victory in 2011 and 2012 before being appointed by the Parisians in May 2016.

Rosengård knocked out fellow 2015/16 quarter-finalists Slavia
• Rosengård saw off Breidablik (with a goal from new signing Lotta Schelin) and Slavia Praha to reach this round for the fifth time in six seasons.
• In all but one of their past campaigns, Rosengård have gone out to German sides, losing on penalties to Frankfurt last March having won the away second leg 2-0 to overturn a similar home defeat.
• Having finished second in Sweden, Rosengård are sure of their European berth in 2017/18.
Wolfsburg (GER)

• Current competition top scorer Jakabfi struck a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge in the round of 32 first leg with Chelsea, then went one better with four in the last-16 trip to Eskilstuna United.
• Ralf Kellermann is aiming to become the first coach to win this tournament three times with the same club.
• Summer signing Anja Mittag is one off being the first player to 50 UEFA women’s club competition goals.
