Daniel Sturridge could be offered an escape route from Liverpool, with Southampton emerging as a potential path to reignite his fading career, according to the Express.
The England international has found himself outside of Jurgen Klopp’s preferred XI and Claude Puel is willing to take him on loan with a view to a £25 million move next summer.
Sturridge’s style has failed to marry with Klopp’s relentless gegenpress and Saints will not be his only option, with West Ham, Stoke and AC Milan also reportedly interested.
Man United eye mega move for Alaba
Bayern Munich star David Alaba is emerging as a serious target for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United, according to the Mirror. The versatile Austrian, who is best suited to left-back but can also thrive in a midfield role, could cost as much as £40m.
The Red Devils are also tracking Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk, who would cost around £30m and bring Mourinho’s spending to well north of £200m since taking over at Old Trafford.
Mourinho has also registered an interest in Alaba’s international colleague Aleksandar Dragovic, whose club Bayer Leverkusen rate him at around £20m.
Madrid join Premier League giants for “next Ronaldo”
Real Madrid have joined Manchester United at the front of the queue to sign Sporting Lisbon’s Gelson Martins, according to the Mirror. Manchester City and Chelsea are also thought to be interested in the 21-year-old, who will command an enormous fee.
Martins came to the attention of the European giants when he dazzled at the Santiago Bernabeu against the Champions League holders as Sporting almost pulled off a memorable victory in an eventual 2-1 defeat.

– With newfound Chinese investment, AC Milan officials took in Sporting Lisbon vs. Real Madrid on Tuesday night, with Gazzetta dello Sport revealing the Rossoneri scouted four targets.
The Portuguese side’s William Carvalho, Martins and Sebastian Coates are all garnering interest from Vincenzo Montella, while Real Madrid’s former Inter starlet Mateo Kovacic could also emerge as a target.
– Sunderland have miraculously put back-to-back wins together to spark hope of survival and Jason Denayer, who starred in the 3-0 victory over Hull City, is keen to make a permanent move from Manchester City to the Stadium of Light, according to the Sun.
The Belgium international is fed up with loan moves, while City will demand around £10m to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.
– Everton have emerged as suitors for Ajax striking sensation Kasper Dolberg, reports the Mirror. The Toffees could move fast to beat off stern competition with a £20m offer.
The 19-year-old Denmark international has scored eight times in 12 appearances this term in the Eredivisie and is being likened to Manchester United superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
