- Lyon continue bid for fourth straight title against only last-16 newcomer Ajax.
- Wolfsburg (only past winner involved other than Lyon) knocked out Atlético in last season’s round of 32.
- Rosengård eliminated Slavia 6-1 on aggregate in 2016/17 round of 16
- LSK beat Brøndby 3-1 on aggregate in last season’s round of 32 despite drawing the first leg 0-0 at home.
- Linköping’s Kosovare Asllani helped Paris to the 2015 final.
- Glasgow are one of three survivors from the qualifying round with Ajax and Slavia.
