Elvedin Begić has been given a new mandate as president of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation (NSBiH) at an electoral assembly in Sarajevo.
The 56-year-old was elected to continue for another four years in the position he has held since 2012. During his first term, Bosnia and Herzegovina reached their first senior national-team tournament, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, while their Under-17 side qualified for the European championship finals in Azerbaijan this summer.
A transport and communications expert, Elvedin Begić was a successful manager and organiser of traffic operations and air traffic services – including those for arriving and departing football teams – at the international airport in Sarajevo, before transferring his managerial experience to football.
At the assembly, former Yugoslavia midfielder and coach Ivica Osim, 75, was appointed as the NSBiH’s honorary president.
