Celta Vigo humble Real Madrid as Benfica stroll on

Madrid will have to overturn a deficit in Vigo next Wednesday if they are to make it through this Copa del Rey quarter-final as they suffered their second straight defeat three days after Sevilla ended their 40-game unbeaten run. Marco Asensio went off injured early in the second half and the goals soon followed. Although Leixões twice threatened to get back into the game, Kostas Mitroglou’s second-half hat-trick made certain for the Eagles. In the last four Benfica face Estoril, at home on 1 March and away on 5 April.

After friendly victories against PSV Eindhoven and Standard Liège in Andalusia, Dortmund travelled to Austria. Bundesliga opposition. Leverkusen changed all ten outfielders at half-time versus Bochum as they prepare for Sunday’s Bundesliga resumption with the Werkself currently ninth. Kevin Volland sat out the game with back pain.
