Chelsea and La Liga clubs eye Alexis Sanchez; Liverpool mull Sturridge

Paul Mariner gives his thoughts on potential moves for Seamus Coleman, Daniel Sturridge, Alexis Sanchez and more.

The football world is in full swing, but Transfer Talk is already monitoring the whispers ahead of all the summer moves. Check out the latest deals here.

Arsenal say adios to Alexis

It’s doom and gloom for Arsenal fans as the Star reported that Alexis Sanchez has made up his mind to return to La Liga, with Sevilla a strong possibility. That would see the Chilean star link up with his former national team boss, Jorge Sampaoli, to spearhead the Andalusians’ all-action front line.

Atletico Madrid would also be interested, and with just one year remaining on his deal at the Emirates, Arsenal might be forced to sell their best player this summer.

But there’s another player in town. Michy Batshuayi will be ruthlessly sold just a year after Chelsea paid Marseille £33 million for the Belgian striker and, according to the Mirror, that means they will be on the list to sign Sanchez.

Klopp admits Sturridge could go

Daniel Sturridge could be on his way out of Anfield, but Jurgen Klopp won’t decide on the England international’s future until this summer.

The Reds’ hitman has been out in the cold this season, with Klopp preferring Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi through the middle, and Klopp has hinted that a summer departure could be in play.

“I have no idea what happens in the summer,” Klopp said. “It is not only Daniel but a lot of players.”

The club would like to move the 27-year-old due to his hefty £150,000-per-week wages, with West Ham and Stoke at the front of the queue to land the former Chelsea and Man City forward.

Liverpool track Viola star

Liverpool will be busy adding talent this summer too and are monitoring Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, the son of former Italy international Enrico Chiesa, Gazzetta dello Sport claimed.

The right winger would offer pace and width that were badly lacking in the absence of Sadio Mane during the African Nations Cup. The 19-year-old has been one of the sensations of the season in Serie A and will not come cheaply, given that his current deal runs until 2021.

A Reds scout took in the youngster’s display in the Viola’s 2-2 draw with Torino live at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, according to the report.

With two goals and three assists in the league this term, Chiesa is one of the brightest prospects around, and Klopp is now thought to be keen to bring him to Anfield this summer.

Shaka Hislop delves into the latest rumours surrounding Fabregas, Insigne, Rabiot and many more.

Tap-Ins

— Everton manager Ronald Koeman has opened the door for Wayne Rooney to return to Goodison Park.

Manchester United’s record goal scorer has been linked with a move back to his boyhood club, having struggled to hold down a regular place under Jose Mourinho.

Antonio Conte will reshuffle his strikers, starting by reintegrating Tammy Abraham after his sensational loan spell with Bristol City, as well as maintaining Diego Costa, despite interest from China.

Fernando Llorente, Andrea Belotti and even Sanchez are being discussed to replace Batshuayi.

— Juventus centre-back Andrea Barzagli could leave the Old Lady this summer, despite having one year left on his deal, Gazzetta dello Sport said, and the New York Cosmos will be his next destination.

The NASL side will look to offer the 35-year-old a fresh opportunity after six years in Turin, with fellow Italian Marco Marchionni also a target.
