Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been searching for defensive reinforcements this summer — and now he is on the brink of bringing back David Luiz from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues have confirmed they have agreed a deal to re-sign Luiz from the French champions, with a statement on their official website reading: “Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed terms for the transfer of David Luiz back to London.

“The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.”

Meanwhile, Leicester City have agreed to meet Adrien Silva’s £38.5m release clause at Sporting Lisbon, while also moving for Algeria striker Islam Slimani from the same club for £30m.
