LIVE: Transfer Deadline Day

With three names linked with moves to Stamford Bridge, Alison Bender and Don Hutchison discuss who the Blues could sign.

Deadline Day is here! As usual, Transfer Talk has its finger on the pulse when it comes to which rumours are picking up steam. Check out all the latest deals here.

TOP STORY: Blues fail with Dembele, Kolasinac moves

Chelsea seem intent on adding to their squad before the transfer window slams shut — but they’re not having too much luck at the moment.

Following a report from the Guardian that the Blues were lining up a £30 million move for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, the 20-year-old was seen boarding a flight to London on Tuesday morning…

However, sources at the Scottish club have told ESPN FC that the only reason Dembele has travelled south of the border is in order to have a scan on his injured knee — and not to hold talks with Chelsea.

Meanwhile, the Blues have failed in their pursuit to sign Schalke wing-back Sead Kolasinac, with the German club’s sporting executive Christian Heidel having said that they knocked back an approach from Stamford Bridge.

And to further add to Chelsea’s frustration, Sky Sport Italia has claimed that Inter Milan winger Jonathan Biabiany has turned down a loan offer from the Blues.

Will Antonio Conte’s men sign anyone before Tuesday’s night’s 11 p.m. deadline?

Gabbiadini in, Rodriguez out at Saints?

It could be a case of one striker arriving and another leaving at Southampton as the deadline draws ever closer.

The Sun reports that the Saints have agreed to a £17m deal for Napoli’s Manolo Gabbiadini, with his arrival likely to spark the departure of Jay Rodriguez.

Gabbiadini had interested both Everton and West Ham but is poised to put pen to paper on a four-year Southampton contract.

And that means Rodriguez could be heading for the Hawthorns, with West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis looking to bring in another striker following the departure of Saido Berahino.

The Sun reports that Southampton are ready to listen to offers for Rodriguez, who it says would cost in the region of £15m.

Jay Rodriguez could be on his way out of Southampton on Tuesday, according to reports.

Talking of West Brom, the Mail says they have turned down a £32m offer for Salomon Rondon from Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian, telling them he is not for sale at any price this winter.

Koeman won’t sell Jagielka

Everton could be the eventual destination of sought-after Burnley defender Michael Keane, who had been reported to be of interest to both Chelsea and his former club Manchester United among others.

The Mirror reports that Goodison Park manager Ronald Koeman is making “a last-ditch bid to persuade the Clarets to sell him their England under-21 defender, with the two clubs locked in negotiations.”

But it adds that a successful move for Keane would not mean a move away for captain Phil Jagielka, with Koeman stressing he would not let him leave “because we need more than 11 players, and we need competition.”

Tap-ins

– Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is a frustrated man, according to the Sun. Why might that be? Well, he wants to re-sign Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace and “cannot understand why the club do not get the deal done.” The Magpies sold Townsend to Palace last summer, and the Sun says Benitez “will wait with bated breath” as a deal to bring the winger in on loan with a £13m move to follow is negotiated. Benitez, it adds, “will be furious if he ends up with no new arrivals.”

– Brentford striker Scott Hogan has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham but could end up staying in the Championship and joining Aston Villa instead, the Mail reports. It says Villa boss Steve Bruce is set to sell Ashley Westwood to Burnley for £5m to help finance a £9m move for the prolific Hogan. But with reports having suggested the Bees want nearer £15m, that amount is unlikely to cut much ice down at Griffin Park.
