Putting Thursday’s 3-1 loss to Zenit behind them, Anderlecht returned level on points with Club Brugge at the head of the Belgian standings. Iago Aspas continued his recent habit of hitting late goals as he salvaged a point for Celta against ten-man Sporting Gijón. There was no positive knock-on effect from Genk’s victory against Astra in midweek as the Blauw-Wit suffered a tenth league reverse. They now lie three points outside of Belgium’s championship play-off places in eighth.
