Seven for Napoli, two each for Torres and Falcao

FRIDAY

Hamburg 1-0 Leverkusen (Papadopoulos 76)
Kyriakos Papadopoulos’s header and some resolute home defending were enough to ensure Leverkusen suffered consecutive defeats and failed to score away from home for the first time since March.

SATURDAY

Chelsea 3-1 Arsenal (Alonso 13, Hazard 53, Fàbregas 85; Giroud 90+1)
A second defeat of the week left Arsenal 12 points adrift of their London rivals at the top of the table. Héctor Bellerín was injured in the move that led to Chelsea’s opener, while Petr Čech’s misplaced clearance gifted former Gunner Cesc Fàbregas the Blues’ third.

Fernando Torres (Atlético)

Atlético 2-0 Leganes (Torres 15 51)
Fernando Torres tidied away the rebound after Antoine Griezmann’s penalty was saved and then raced through to clip away Ángel Correa’s through-ball. His first strike was his 50th Liga goal at the Estadio Vicente Calderón, his second, the 32-year-old’s 100th in Spain’s top division.

Bayern 1-1 Schalke (Lewandowski 9; Naldo 13)
Robert Lewandowski capped a fizzing move with a delicately-chipped finish as Bayern took an early lead, but Naldo swiftly cancelled out the Pole’s 15th Bundesliga goal of the season. Philipp Lahm came on after 87 minutes to make his 500th Bayern appearance.

Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

Barcelona 3-0 Athletic (Alcácer 18, Messi 40, Aleix Vidal 69)
Paco Alcácer got his first Liga goal for Barcelona, Lionel Messi took his tally for the campaign to 16 with a free-kick from out near the corner flag and Aleix Vidal scored his second goal in  just five Liga appearances in 2016/17.

Dortmund 1-0 Leipzig (Aubameyang 35)
Ousmane Dembélé’s ball in from the right invited Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to head in his 17th goal in as many Bundesliga games this season, and first since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations. Dortmund have not lost in eight games since the start of December (W3 D5).

Monaco 3-0 Nice (Germain 48, Falcao 60 81)
Monaco are three points clear at the top of the table after overcoming their closest rivals. Valère Germain headed then in front and Radamel Falcao stabbed away his 13th and 14th Ligue 1 goals of the season. Monaco are unbeaten in nine.

Bologna 1-7 Napoli (Torosidis 36; Hamšík 4 70 74, Insigne 6, Mertens 33 43 90)
Following a fine header, and a decent hit from the edge of the box, Marek Hamšík completed the first hat-trick of his professional career with a drive as Napoli extended their unbeaten run to 17 games in all competitions. Dries Mertens completed his own treble at the death, taking his Serie A tally to 16 for the season. In the first half, both sides had a player sent off, and Pepe Reina saved a penalty.

Dijon 1-3 Paris (Moura 29, Thiago Silva 81, Cavani 85; Júlio Tavares 31)
Lucas Moura smashed in Paris’s opener, but Dijon replied quickly and looked set for a point until Thiago Silva bundled in a second in a scramble following a corner. Edinson Cavani back-heeled Gonçalo Guedes’s shot into the net to complete the scoring – his sixth goal in his last four games.

Porto 2-1 Sporting (Tiquinho 6 40; Ruiz 60)
Newly-arrived from Guimarães, Tiquinho marked his Porto debut with two goals – a header and a neat finish after rounding the keeper – though Sporting’s Alan Ruiz upstaged him a little with a stunning volley. Porto have not lost in 17 Liga matches since a 2-1 loss at Sporting in August.
