Claudio Bravo prevented further damage, denying Erik Lamela from the spot as the visitors struggled without Kevin De Bruyne.

Celtic remain unbeaten and clear at the top in Scotland after Scott Brown curled the ball in when Moussa Dembélé’s initial effort was blocked. It could have been more as Celtic dominated Dundee by 16 shots to two.

Bayern’s perfect start to the Bundesliga season has been ended in match six, four games earlier than 2015/16. Having lost 2-1 at Atlético Madrid on Wednesday, Bayern took the lead through Joshua Kimmich’s diving header. However, Anthony Modeste’s fifth league goal of the season ensured Köln maintained their unbeaten record on Saturday.

Erik Lamela missed a 65th-minute spot kick, but Spurs would not be denied.

Admir Mehmedi’s header and a late goal on the break from Javier Hernández on Saturday moved Leverkusen to within six points of early pacesetters Bayern. Bernd Leno had a fine game in the Werkself goal.

Dortmund are now four points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayern despite having most of the play at Leverkusen, with 70% possession and a 9-1 advantage in corners.

Real Madrid 1-1 Eibar (Bale 17; Rico 6)
Gareth Bale hit his 50th Liga goal to cancel out Eibar’s early opener, but Madrid were unable to reclaim top spot from Atlético as they had to settle for a fourth consecutive draw in all competitions.

Premier League champions Leicester have now won only two of their opening seven leagues games after being held to a second goalless stalemate at home this term.

There was no way through for Danish top-flight leaders FCK as they played out a fifth league draw in 12 games.

Diogo Jota scored his first senior hat-trick before half-time to get off the mark for Porto. Jota, 19, is on loan from Atlético Madrid, whom he joined this year from Paços de Ferreira.

Club Brugge 1-0 Gent (Van Rhijn 42)
Summer signing Ricardo van Rhijn opened his account for the hosts and secured a third straight league win in the process. Rami Gershon was sent off for Gent four minutes from time.

Juventus scored three in six second-half minutes to see off lowly Empoli as Gonzalo Higuaín made it six goals in his first seven Serie A outings for the league leaders.

Wissam Ben Yedder scored the winner that downed Lyon 1-0 on Tuesday and he was at it again on Saturday. This time, the summer signing struck the clincher in the final minute of normal time, tapping in after a great run and cut-back by Vitolo.
